The ST-1M camshaft was developed to bring out the performance of the "Standard Engine & Yoshimura Cyclone" for the GROM. This is a bolt-on camshaft that replaces the stock camshaft and is used with fuel adjustment. Both power and torque exceed the standard throughout the entire range, and acceleration is smooth and powerful right up to the rev limit.

As I use it daily up hill and lots of stop and go traffic, I chose the ST-1M. It is easy to install but this cam definitely needs tuning and the stock fuelling is not right. After fitting a 181cc bore up kit the power was all low and middle in the rev range with nothing but slow rising revs up high. I fitted the Yoshimura Camshaft [ST-1M] to help keep the power building in the high range. After fitting the Yoshimura Camshaft [ST-1M] my GROM felt like it could rev more quickly towards the rev limit. Gone was the (rev) wall that my GROM hit just when you needed to rev out quickly to the limiter. The power still flattens out after 7500rpm but it doesn't just stop like with the standard camshaft. Fitting requires some special tools along with basic skills. Standard GROM camshaft has a engine decompression mechanism attached, the Yoshimura camshaft does not, I have found no difference in engine starting without the engine decompression mechanism. The Yoshimura Camshaft [ST-1M] comes with recommended valve clearances and fuelling settings for std. 125cc engines, I have a piggyback fuel injection controller with AFR sensor. From my experience a reputable high lift cam is a must for bore up kits, the Yoshimura Camshaft [ST-1M] suits my riding style while improving my GROMs starting and smoothing it's idle.View Detail
I replaced Camshaft for me for the first time. I decided to install it arbitrarily by reading the Instruction Manual and ordered it. But there is no particular installation Instruction Manual etc. (Numbers of Setup and Data etc are enclosed) Net found another Instruction Manual of Manufacturer and installed it.
