Installation of Y's Gear Brett Cowl for Bolt
I've installed it on my friend's MY2014 BOLT.
My friend asked me to look for a cowl that upgrades the original design and improves the comfortability during high speed driving. That was when I found this product and decided to buy it because I trusted Y's Gear and I liked its design, even though it was a little expensive.
As far as I have checked, the quality of the metal/stainless steel hex bolts used for the resin part and the brackets of the windshield are good and steady. The price is reasonable.
* Installation
You need to use a little ingenuity to install this part.
(1) Cover the headlight frame with a waste cloth to prevent scratches.
(2) Windshield and brackets are tentatively assembled. Just install it as the way it is.
(3)The inner nut easily falls off as you try to install the bracket to the front fork inner tube. It will be easier for you to paste it with a both-sided tape before fixing it. As the bolt is a safety product, you need to securely tighten it by applying lock-tight. Since this product is a Yamaha optional part, if you fasten the fixing metal at the head of the top bridge, the light will come to the center.
(4) Finally, retighten the hex nut and the installation nut of the windshield by fine tuning the distance between the headlight.

It took me about 30 minutest to install this part. It was such a neat part: beautiful windshield, exquisite structure, or the anti-scratch/impact rubber for the inner tube connection part. I'm completely satisfied with its windbreaking effect when driven in a speed like 100km/h. I wish it had more durability against sand or dust.View Detail
